Auckland Blind Sports and Recreation Club Takes On RNZFB Staff
The following is a summary of last nights goalball evening hosted by the
Auckland Blind Sports and Recreation Club (ABSRC).
First and foremost I would like to acknowledge all those that attended the
night, staff, club members, volunteers and supporters. We all had a great
time and although we could not register a win with either staff team the
games were very close.
I think I should point out in defense of our staff teams that the club
named three New Zealand Reps for both their Ladies and Men's teams. It was
great to see the game played in good spirit and I'm sure people fully understand
the reasoning behind player selections.
Thank you to everyone in Awhina House who contributed to the Koha, we
raised ninety dollars and I can assure you the club is very grateful.
The trophy was presented to the club on behalf of the RNZFB by Mary
Schnackenberg and was accepted by the two captains Sharleen Tongalea and
Murray Peat. (Please note that this trophy is on display in reception
until Friday the 30th of July 2004).
